Present Day

Victoria Ray may look like a sexually repressed and quiet university librarian, but Greg Stone has a way of letting all her inhibitions go. Greg is the brother of the newly elected governor, and when he and Victoria met each other as they worked on the gubernatorial campaign, the sparks flew between them. Victoria and Greg decided to have a sex-only relationship with no complications, or that’s the way Victoria believes it to be. Whether they have sex on a balcony, in a hotel room, or even in her workplace, she can hardly tell Greg no because he is so unbelievable.

Her sexy fling is indeed becoming complicated as her feelings for Greg have grown. And when Greg’s nineteen year-old daughter Carrie finds out about Victoria, and confronts her about sleeping with her father, the no frills sex she and Greg have come to an end. Greg doesn’t seem to mind that their secret affair is out in the open. But Victoria has to decide if she still wants Greg in her life with all this drama, and yes, the complications she doesn’t even want.

Zannie Adams has written one sexual and powerful story. I was hooked from the first page where Victoria and Greg are engaging in some very nice foreplay on a balcony during a party. From that moment on, it only gets better! Greg and Victoria are so good together, especially during those scenes where they can hardly keep their hands off of each other, which happens to be almost every page. The sex is raw, titillating, and written so well that I even went back after each scene to get a second taste. COMPLICATED is about two mature characters who simply enjoy sex, and their attraction for each other is so unbelievable that the next logical step would be a relationship built on more than just the physical. This step happens in an explosive way when Greg’s daughter enters the picture, and then some hard decisions have to be made. I was also pleasantly surprised by the tables being turned where Victoria is the one who starts out with only wanting sex, whereas Greg has more of an emotional response to his relationship with Victoria.

COMPLICATED has to be one of the best erotic e-books I have read in awhile. The characters seem so real, from their emotions and personalities to that of the growing feelings between Greg and his love for his lady librarian. It goes to shows that the stereotypes about librarians are wrong, especially when a woman like Victoria doesn’t mind some loving in between the bookshelves. And because of that, COMPLICATED deserves the La Grande Mort award!
