Kurt
Schillig and Valentine Westridge are lovers looking for a wife, but
it has not been easy for them. Although some of their fellow
brothers in arms friends have been lucky enough to find women who
will accept an unconventional marriage it has not, so far, been the
case for Kurt and Valentine. Then, when one of their friends
suggests a woman by the name of Leah Marleston, a widow with two
children, Kurt and Valentine decide that she might be more willing
to accept a marriage proposal from two men.
Leah is
in debt up to her knickers. So, when two gorgeous gentlemen show up
at her door, Leah thinks they are debt collectors, and she tries to
get rid of them. When they assure her that what they are seeking is
a wife, Leah is sure she must have misunderstood them. “They” are
seeking a wife?
LOVE’S
STRATEGY, book 3, of the Brothers In Arms series, cements my
admiration of Ms. Kane’s writing skills. The original premise of
the series is always present, but with a different spin- during the
war, two men bond together, sexually and emotionally, and afterwards
are in need of a wife to complete them. The tenderness and love
between Kurt and Valentine is lovely. Kurt insists that Valentine
get married, knowing he longs for children, but is it really
Valentine who is in need of a wife? When Kurt sees how attracted
Valentine is to Leah, he is amazed to feel jealousy as well as an
attraction to Leah himself. Leah is a practical woman, who is
shocked but amazingly turned on by the relationship between Kurt and
Valentine. To Leah, when it comes to choosing between two handsome,
wealthy, kind husbands or poverty, there is no contest.
Two
other brothers in arms, Freddy and, his companion, Brett, make an
appearance in LOVE’S STRATEGY. In the previous books, Freddy is in
love with Brett who seemingly does not return his feelings, thinking
him too young. But now Freddy seems to have grown up, what
precipitated this action? I can’t wait for his and Brett’s story, in
fact I can’t wait for all of the other Brothers-In-Arm’s
stories.
For a
well-written and absorbing story, I highly recommend rushing out and
picking up a copy of LOVE’S STRATEGY by Samantha Kane. If you have
not read previous books in the Brothers-In-Arms series, rest
assured it won’t deter you from enjoying LOVE’S STRATEGY. But be
warned, once you have read LOVE’S STRATEGY, you will be compelled to
read other books in the series.
