Gay Erotic Paranormal Romance - Short

Josh Mackay has the dubious distinction of having survived numerous encounters with the Minders – individuals with the ability to steal a person's will and control their mind.   In fact, the love of his life, Kiran Brunner, is one of them.  Josh has also managed to survive years of captivity by the "Agency," an organization dedicated to hunting and exploiting the Minders.   With Kir's help, Josh escaped the agency, but when another jealous Minder planted the suggestion that he kill Kir, Josh chose to leave his lover behind rather than risk harming him.   But no matter how hard Josh tries to hide himself in the mountains, one of his former agency captors, Trey Reynolds, keeps finding him.  Surprisingly, Trey appears to have an agenda of his own and even helps Josh survive in his makeshift camp.

However, Josh's self-imposed exile must now come to an end.  Trey has brought him disturbing news…the agency has sent someone to capture Kir, someone who resembles Josh.   Knowing his fragile lover cannot survive captivity in the agency a second time, Josh comes out of hiding and, with Trey's help, rescues Kir.  Reunited at last, the lovers learn to trust each other again even as they go on the run from those who stalk them.  Unfortunately, betrayal strikes yet again and now, Kir must bow to the agency's agenda or Josh will be made to suffer.   But this time, Kir knows he must overcome a lifetime of manipulation to finally free himself and his lover.  Does he have the strength to do it?

Like an artist slowly bringing a painting to life, Joely Skye's Minders universe unfolds with a mesmerizing quality that captures the reader's imagination.   Josh and Kir are two of the most damaged characters you will ever meet.  Whether intentional or not, they each have done terrible things but one can't help but empathize with them and cheer them on to finally having some happiness.   With an ominous plot that weaves through each of the three books, I highly recommend that you read the stories in order (MONSTER, ZOMBIE, MINDER).  If you love sexy, twisted tales and a conspiracy theory or two, do not miss this superbly intense series.
