Erotic Paranormal Romance - Ménage - Short Story

The United States, Karnak and Cairo in Egypt - Present Day

While on an academic research trip to Egypt the previous year, Alexis Peters and her travel companions had experienced terror the likes of which most people will never experience. At least one of her companions lost his life and another, Carson Bonham, disappeared and hasn't been heard from since. Alexis herself barely escaped and was fortunate enough to be taken to the airport by a man who assured her she should leave and never come back. It's taken a long time and a pill or two along the way for Alexis to force the memories of Egypt into a dark corner of her mind; the dreams are finally coming less often, but if only she knew Carson's fate. Though Alexis wants to find out what happened, she's convinced no force on Earth could compel her to return to Egypt. Then Carson's dad, Hunter Storme, shows up and begs Alexis for her help. If she would return with him to Egypt, maybe she would remember something that could lead to Carson. A dream later that night brings a man to Alexis like no other, a strong and mysterious man who claims that Alexis belongs to him. He shows her flashes of the night she was attacked, the night that he saved her life. When she awakens, the amulet that had been around his neck in the dream is in her hands. Does he really know where Carson is? And if he does, how can she deny her assistance to a desperate father? Fighting her fears all the way, Alexis tells Hunter that she'll travel with him to Egypt.

Ardeth and his twin brother, Amenhotep, are extraordinary men. Each of them can transform into a legendary creature, a sphinx. Once upon a time, they were Scorpion Warriors, protectors of the great king, Osiris. After Osiris's death at the hands of his traitorous brother Set, and before Set's mortal life was ended, Set loosed a curse upon the world that still endangers it today. If Set's minions can find a mortal to translate two stones with ancient writing upon them, he will be brought back to life and there will be no help for the world. Unfortunately for Alexis, she is a mortal capable of translating the stones. Though Ardeth has no desire to place Alexis in danger, he knows the safest place for her is by his side where he can protect her. It isn't only the blood bond between them that makes Ardeth yearn for Alexis, as she is the mate of his heart, the woman for whom he has waited centuries. Can he protect her from Set's minions? Plus, how will she take the truth that Ardeth will reveal?

With a rich storyline and characters that leap from the pages, ARDETH & AMENHOTEP doesn't disappoint. Alexis is a strong woman, determined not to back down from a fight or give in to the fears that her experience in Egypt instilled, and she is a suitable mate for a legendary warrior of Ardeth's caliber. Although her stubborn attitude can, at times, place her in the path of danger, it's that very attitude that will help her to survive. Ardeth is a noble man, an Alpha male who is able to appreciate a modern woman while still seeking to bend her to his will. Don't mistake me, Ardeth is not an over-the-top arrogant hero; he's a prime example of the type of man that most women would be very happy to have as their own.

Hunter Storme is a martial arts expert and a very concerned father and, without him, Ardeth and Alexis may never have come back together. Kahma was Osiris's high priest once upon a time and gives Ardeth the information he needs to assure Alexis's safety. Amenhotep plays such an important role in this book that it's difficult to consider him a secondary character, but this is primarily Alexis and Ardeth's story. Other characters from the Egyptian Lover series make contributions to this wonderful read as well.

With plenty of action, danger, and scorching hot sex scenes, ARDETH & AMENHOTEP is a sure-fire winner. Though this is the third in a series, it is a stand-alone read, and you shouldn't hesitate to buy it for fear of being lost. But hey, that doesn't mean you won't want to read the two previous books in the series, KAHMA and SOPDET. Stop by Changeling Press and get a book (or three) today.
