Svalvik Island, Greenland – the Present
Aurora can't stay away from the basement at her job, despite her
boss's fervent warnings. She is not prepared for the sight that
meets her: two gorgeous men lying frozen in blocks of ice. Despite
her growing urge to run for dear life, Aurora walks toward the
blocks and can't refrain from touching one of the frozen mounds. As
the strangest sensations arrest her body, she realizes that the ice
is beginning to melt. The otherwise still man grabs her arm before
she can move away. After what feels like a small pinch to her arm,
the man is totally revived and shakes away the remnants of ice on
his body. He tells her that her precious blood is needed to awaken
the other frozen vampire.
Aurora is later whisked away to a remote island with Endre and
Tabor, the vampires she unwittingly rescued from certain death.
Aurora protests about being taken by them, but she is given little
choice in the matter since they both claim her as their eternal
human mate.
The premise of AURORA'S TRIANGLE is quite intriguing and the story
starts off with a bang. I was just as excited and agitated as
Aurora when she spotted the frozen men. Like Aurora, I was also
mesmerized and entranced when a little drop of her blood was taken
by each of the men. Unfortunately, the power of the story slips
when the 'enspelling' is enacted. Apparently, the vampires have the
power to enspell their victims and show them their memories and life
stories in just a few minutes. This may be needed in some instances
to move the story along, but in this case, it detracted from the
excitement. AURORA'S TRIANGLE would have been a much better read if
Ms. Ladley would have foregone the enspelling and allowed the reader
to learn the story as the plot thickened.
