IF LOOKS COULD KILL is the third and final installment of Sylvie Durand and her relationship with her two vampire masters- Burke Langton and Miko Dvorak. IF LOOKS COULD KILL begins with the night after Burke, Sylvie and Miko unsuccessfully tried to bind themselves to each other. Even with the intense sex and blood drinking between them, something is still holding them back from making Sylvie an Origo, which is a mate to the two men. But before they can figure out how to fix this problem, Miko’s fellow Excoluni, (vampire enforcers) overtake Burke and arrest him. They believe he is a murderer and if found guilty, he will be executed. Miko at one point believed the same, but now he thinks Burke is innocent.

Before Sylvie can take action, she is captured and held hostage in an empty cabin where she will be sacrificed by a crazed vampire. He thinks her blood will bring back his dead love. (He keeps her corpse in the basement!) Time is of the essence as Burke and Miko try to escape the enforcers and rescue Sylvie.

Tawny Taylor has written a nice finale to the love triangle of Burke, Sylvie and Miko. The shocking twist at the end, who was behind everything, including the framing of Burke, took me by surprise. I also liked the insight into Sylvie’s past and why she needs the love of these two men. The idea of two men bringing such happiness to a lonely woman’s life makes IF LOOKS COULD KILL a wonderful love story. Sylvie is a woman after my own heart.
