While pheromones may help a couple form a perfect physical union, Dracan's are enough like humans that they must form an emotional attachment as well.

Six years ago, Ruliann met the man she would pairbond with. The attraction between them was palpable, but before Ruliann could take their relationship to the next level, Jonnath left to work off planet. Ruliann assumed Jonnath didn't like her enough to explore the attraction between them and tried to find someone else to spend her life with. After six years of frustration, Ruliann is ready to take a vow of celibacy and join an order that helps women cope without a mate. But now Jonnath is back – and has asked Ruliann to meet him.

Jonnath wanted nothing more than to become a bonded pair with Ruliann, but he couldn't. He was determined to find a cure for his younger sister's affliction and that required he go off planet to work with another race. He hadn't planned to be gone for six years. He just hopes it's not too late, and the attraction between himself and Ruliann is just as strong.

From the moment Ruliann steps into the café, Jonnath realizes his desire for Ruliann hasn't lessened but is stronger than ever. But something isn't right – he can barely detect Ruliann's desire and when she flat out refuses to give him another chance Jonnath takes drastic action. He kidnaps Ruliann and takes her away to a place where they can be alone for two weeks and hopes that he can change her mind. But it's not just Ruliann's stubbornness Jonnath must overcome -- someone has drugged Ruliann -- dampening her Dracan sense of smell.

A MATTER OF CHOICE is a sinfully delicious futuristic romance. As members of the Dracan race, Ruliann and Jonnath are closer to their animal instincts than humans, and yet very human in their ability to screw up a perfectly perfect relationship. Jonnath is absolutely sure that Ruliann is the woman for him. After years of fearing she would never pairbond, Ruliann is afraid to believe. But her feelings for Jonnath begin to surface and she finds herself teetering on the edge, fulfill all her dreams or walk away and spend the rest of her life alone. While they are alone together in the wilderback they will each learn that sometimes passion is not enough – but where there is love anything is possible.
