- Present Day
Atlanta Jackson
is not a morning person. Nor is she your typical woman. Yes, there
are some things that are the basics for the gender: tampons,
chocolate, men are inferior, and nothing says love like a whole
bunch of money. But generally, from that point on, Atlanta is in a
league of her own. A bold, black Southern woman who makes no bones
about her love of sports or her love of food, Atlanta is a force to
be reckoned with. And that force has just bowled over Norwegian
Steele Magnussen.
Steele prides
himself on being prepared for just about anything. However, Atlanta
turns out to be in a league of her own. Their minor collision has
resulted in the necessity for a few stitches and Steele finds
himself on the receiving end of an argument that he has no way of
winning. What does a gentleman do when presented with a lady who
refuses to play the damsel in distress?
Loved it, loved
it, loved it. An erotic romance that slowly builds in intensity,
making it much more thrilling when the protagonists finally
consummate their relationship, THE WILD, WILD MESS: ATLANTA is a
thoroughly entertaining read. From the first page, Atlanta's
demeanor, humor, and attitude will engage and thrill the reader and
things just get better when Steele enters the picture. I'm not sure
I understand the sub-theme of Steele being a berserker, nor
references to others of that type, but it doesn't detract from the
overall tale.
Secondary
characters include Atlanta and Steele's friends and family who add
their own bits and pieces to the story, mainly as background to the
plot. But there is no mistaking who this story is about, and the
interracial aspects of Steele and Atlanta's relationship are also
quite well done. THE WILD, WILD MESS: ATLANTA is definitely a book
to add to the keeper pile.
