Tamara Turner is fed up with the whole vampire thing. Vampires aren’t much like current fiction portrays, nope, for one thing, they’re not immortal, for another, the whole turning into bats thing, so not happening. Actually it’d be more accurate to view them as a fast healing bunch of mob families with the attendant political machinations and profit seeking. Tamara should know, after all, her mother is the head of the vampire high council. Unfortunately, a triad has been formed on the West Coast and since the only thing powerful enough to defeat a triad, is, well, another triad, Tamara is under orders to form one with Dominic Garcione and Marc Devereaux, old college buddies who also hail from powerful families. So, now all they have to do is share some intense three way sex to form a power lock, and defeat the Jameson triad. Sounds easy, right?

Dominic is intense and powerful, an Italian male with dark good looks. He’s wanted Tamara for years, and if it takes this kind of danger to get her to quit running and let him get close, well, he can’t help but believe it’s worth it. However, he never pictured sharing her with Marc. Marc is a smooth southern boy with charm to spare, but make no mistake, he’s just as dangerous as Dominic and is more than willing to get close to Tamara, even if it means treading on dangerous ground with Dominic. Tamara is an intelligent woman, sure, she’s well aware that Dominic and Marc have both wanted her for years, she’s not going to lie, both men are immensely appealing to her as well. That being said, Tamara worries that she’ll form a soul bond with one or both, and she’s just not ready to fall in love. This trio is going to face a load of danger in the months ahead, not only from the triad, but from a mysterious being who shows up offering “gifts”. Can they get it together and save the vampires and humans who will inevitably get caught up in this power struggle?

Vanessa Jameson’s father turned their powerful and respected family into a bunch of sheep. Teased and tormented in her youth, Vanessa is the boss now that her father is dead, and she’s determined to regain all the power he lost, and more. Hence the triad she formed with Carlos Diaz and Phil Gaytes. Both men are spineless wimps underneath their bravado, but they’re from strong families and they’ll serve their purpose. Tamara’s mother, Cheryl, is not the sweet, loving mother of storybooks. No, Cheryl is ruthless and determined to do whatever she thinks is best, even if that means threatening her daughter with death. And you thought your mother was bad! And then of course there’s Coir, the gift bearer. Is he a dark faery, an immortal hunter of vampires, or a friend in disguise? Whatever he is, I wouldn’t want to be caught in a dark alley with someone capable of sneaking up on six vampires and freezing them where they stand.

Marly Chance has penned a fantastic tale of sizzling hot sex, adventure and political machinations that will intrigue and entice readers. I’d like to spend more time getting to know Tamara, Dominic and Marc, heck, for that matter I wouldn’t mind learning more about Coir. Is he a hero in disguise or an enemy bent on destruction? If we’re lucky, Marly will decide to make this into a series, or at least write a sequel. What do you say, Marly? In the meantime, I guess I’ll just have to reread BEEN THERE, BIT THAT until Marly’s next book comes out. Such a chore. Not. ;-) Anyway, what are you waiting for? Stop by Ellora’s Cave today and get your copy of BEEN THERE, BIT THAT.
