A brilliant scientist and a beautiful lady, Dr. Carinian Derrickson would much rather be back in San Diego where it's warm than in Colorado freezing her butt off. Her mental barriers are strong, which impress the hell out of him, and the picture his bosses gave him doesn't do Carin justice. She reminds him of warm honey and he just has to have a taste. Unfortunately, that's going to have to wait because he needs Carin's help to get him close to Sidheon and find out what he's up to. Sidheon is one of them, or use to be until he went all rogue on the Council. They have traced his whereabouts to the same place Carin works so Bix's job is to use Carin to get in and then go from there. However, Bix never counted on the strong attraction between him and Carin, or the fact that he just might have found his mate.

Jon and Carin's relationship heats up rather quickly, but someone isn't happy about it. When an attempt is made on Carin's life, Jon barely makes it in time to save his beloved. Will she forgive him for what he's about to do?

CARINIAN'S SEEKER is a fascinating paranormal romance with suspense elements thrown into the mix making it hard to put down. From the moment Bix and Carin enter the scene, the story takes off and never lets up until the very last word. Carin is a genius and she's secretly searching for a formula that will turn her into a vampire? Why? Because all the women in her family have died at a young age of some dreaded disease, and Carin doesn't want to follow in their footsteps. Bix has never had a hard time using his target before until Carin. Everything about her turns him on; her smart mouth, her intelligence, her kisses, her touches...well, you get the picture. Talk about highly combustible! When these two have sex it's hot enough to singe the fingertips. Secondary characters include Bix's partner and best friend, Alaan, who's parents happen to be the head of the Council, and a few others who make brief appearances here and there. Alaan is an interesting character and I can't wait to read his story. He loved and lost, and he's not in the market for another mate at the moment. Is there a woman who will brave his scowls and give him something to smile about?

First up in the Vampire Council of Ethics series, CARINIAN'S SEEKER starts the series off right. With captivating characters, an intriguing storyline, steamy sex, and a rush of danger, Ms. Michaels is well on her way to creating what looks to be a successful series.
