Popular singer
Lakon Montgomery is practicing a song for the show that night when
an alluring scent invades his space, drawing his attention to the
nice looking bottom belonging to the woman working behind the
speakers. He wonders who she is while he watches her and a young
fellow banter back and forth as they walk off the stage. Later,
Lakon learns her name is Mya Brooks, the young man is her brother,
Myles, and both of them are members of the crew. It's not 'til a bit
later that Lakon discovers the young lady can sing. But more than
that, he thinks, just thinks mind you, that Mya might be his mate.
Mya Brooks and
her brother, Myles, ran away from their abusive parents when they
were in their teens. Mya and Myles are talented singers and
musicians, and their parents made them sign an ironclad contract
that stated whatever money the kids made, the parents got half.
Tired of the abuse, Mya and Myles left home without a backward
glance, doing odd jobs here and there to make the money they needed
to survive. Mya has also done a few things she's not proud of in
order to pay for Myles's medication and treatments for hemophilia.
The first time Lakon approaches them and proposes that Mya sing a
duet with him, she's shaking in her boots. Number one, Lakon is a
big, brawny man who has a tendency to growl a lot, and number two,
she finds him attractive. However, Lakon will not take no for an
answer and pretty soon things heat up between the two.
Meanwhile on the
funny farm, his cousin, Auggie Livingston -- he was the villain in
MANAGING A FAMILY -- is still plotting to be the Alpha of the clan.
Do you get the picture? <g> Lakon, Auggie, the other Montgomery's
are...yep, you guessed it, werewolves. Anyway, Auggie is still
seething over Riker mating with a human and diluting the wolf gene
pool and now it looks like Lakon is doing the same. He's got plans
to end this farce and once he's done, Riker and Lakon will no longer
be the Alpha and Beta.
Man, oh man!
Talk about sensory overload. FAMILY HARMONY has twists and turns,
heartache, danger, and passion in spades. Lakon is a sexy and
powerful man that you don't want to mess with. He's got a killer
smile and is so yummy it's not even funny. The first time he sees
Mya, Lakon is hooked, but he isn't sure what's going on except that
he wants her. Is she his mate? I love it that he called his father,
Mik, to talk it through. Once he's got it figured out there's no
stopping him. Mya relies on her brother, Myles, and that's all she
needs. Big men frighten her, especially after the abuse she suffered
at her father's hands, and from the doctor who treated Myles's
condition. I admire Mya for her courage and willingness to help her
brother in any way she could. That's what love is all about. When
Mya and Lakon come together a storm rages threatening to consume
them both. In that moment, both of them know that they have found
their other half. The Montgomery's make up the cast of characters in
this little drama and I for one, can't wait to read the rest of
their stories. We've got some fascinating people here and a few new
faces, including Myles, Mya's brother. Wait until you read what
happens to him.
As I read FAMILY
HARMONY, I found myself consumed by Lakon and Mya's story. There are
so many threads to this tale, but Ms. Massa ties each and every one
up into a neat little bow. Action, danger, and spicy sex are just a
few of the expertly utilized components readers will find in FAMILY
HARMONY. Next in The Montgomery Family series is A FAMILY
PORTRAIT, Tavist Darke's story. Who is he you ask? You'll have to
read the series to find out. <g>
