New York and Florida - Present Day

After living hundreds of years, it takes alot to interest vampire Tristan Chance.  An investment in a new hot spot in Manhattan, despite being a major coup, doesn't even warrant a congratulatory drink as far as Tristan is concerned.  But one of the naked dishes certainly makes his footsteps falter.

Lara Montgomery took the job at club Bitter Sweet mostly to spite her father.  Most women couldn't handle lying naked and covered in food on a table with strange men plucking appetizers off of various body parts.  But Lara has an air about her that discourages salacious touches.  Then she sees Tristan...

Unfortunately for Lara, her brief run-in with Tristan at Bitter Sweet is followed up the next night by a meeting at Montgomery Suites, Lara's father's hotel business, with none other than Tristan as the white knight coming in to save the company with an infusion of cash.  Fate seems to be throwing them together, but what will Lara do when she learns who and what Tristan really is?

Erotic, humorous, and action packed, FIGHTING CHANCE has interesting characters and an engaging plot.  Although there were some scenes that didn't quite click -- Tristan never asks Lara why she works at Bitter Sweet which would seem like a pertinent question considering her parentage -- overall the story is entertaining.  Since she was a little girl Lara has been seeking her father's approval.  Tristan shows her it's time to grow up and let go, even as he faces a choice he never thought he'd have...whether to take a mate.

Tristan has some very handsome brothers who provide background and support to the couple throughout their tempestuous relationship.  All indications are that they might be getting their own stories before too long, so if you like FIGHTING CHANCE, there might be more on the horizon.
