On top of that, Eric's third cousin has come to town and, well...let's just say she's acting anything but family towards him. Tara's main goal is to become a reporter, and when she's assigned to cover the conversion of Vandermortal House to a fashionable restaurant, she has mixed feelings about it since that means being in close proximity with Justin.

As the Halloween Masked Ball approaches, Tara will realize that there are supernatural forces surrounding the house, and the have plans for Tara.

Although not told in the first person, Tara's inner thought process is the only one readers are given in Veronica Wilde's HALLOWEEN HEARTS. It would have been nice to know just what the sexy Justin was thinking at times, but Tara is a strong enough character that other points of view won't be missed. At times chilling, and funny, HALLOWEEN HEARTS has just the right mixture of the paranormal that it doesn't overshadow the love story. A lot of this book deals with Tara trying to figure out just who she is, in terms of what kind of man she wants in her life. Trust me, once Justin enters the picture, there is no contest between him and Eric. He's very charismatic and seductive, and the aura of mystery around him makes him even more desirable. The ghost story itself is intriguing, as readers try to figure out just who is haunting Vandermortal, and what their intentions are.

Although nowhere near our heroine's favorite holiday, HALLOWEEN HEARTS is perfect for those who like a little ghostly danger in their lives, no matter the time of year.
