Erotic Paranormal Romance
Present Day
Dani Linden is sure of two things: she's a whiz at digging up a good
story, and she can always count on her partner, Ben Davis. For the
past five years, Dani and Ben have worked together to bring The
Sun Times riveting articles, and during that period of time
they've become fast friends. During the week they work together,
and on weekends they spend time together watching movies, dining,
and doing what best friends do. One would think that there was
something more between them than friendship, but there's not.
Unless you look hard at Ben and see the desire and hidden emotions
he has for Dani.
Dani is proud of her status as an investigative reporter for the
Sun, and despite a rocky beginning when Ben joined the staff,
she counts on him for most everything. After her abusive marriage
finally ended in divorce, Dani is hesitant to feel emotional ties to
any man. That's one of the nice things about Ben -- he doesn't
cling, he's there in a pinch, and is pleasant on the eyes. He's
also not looking for anything more than friendship.
Ha...if she only knew...
Ben is not proud of his roots, and he daily wages an internal war to
tamp down his baser instincts -- as a man half in love with Dani,
not allowing the inner beast to come out. Ben isn't fully human;
he's a werewolf. All of his life he's fought the natural urges of
shapeshifting. His one experience as an adolescent left a bad taste
in his mouth, and now Ben devotes his free time to a stress-free
life: yoga, vegetarianism, and Buddhism. But despite clean living,
he's still a man with desires, and he's wanted Dani since he met
her.
When a local girl goes missing and her father approaches Dani to get
to the bottom of things, Dani's nose for news twitches and her
hackles raise. His insane ranting that she's been taken by
werewolves prove how distraught the man is (he's surely crazy), but
Dani still senses a good story. The investigative reporter in her
knows she's on the trail of something hot, but her humanistic side
also feels the man's pain at the loss of his daughter. Ben only
senses trouble and warns Dani to stay out of it. Of course, he
can't give her any solid reasons, and she'd surely never believe
Ben's personal stake in this tale. But while Ben doesn't know the
missing girl personally and definitely doesn't know her whereabouts,
he knows something is up in the were network, and that Dani
will only find trouble if she starts snooping.
Dani and Ben have a battle on their hands, both with their
relationship and with the ensuing war between good and evil. Ben
has never told his partner what he truly is because he's ashamed of
his roots and of his baser feelings for her. He's afraid that once
he tastes her skin and feels her pulse against his lips that the
animal will come out and terrify Dani. She's never told him what
exactly happened during her marriage, but he senses that it was
bad. Would she trade one truly abusive relationship for one with a
werewolf? Any moron can answer that...no.
Evangeline Anderson's HUNGER MOON RISING is a page-turning tale of
paranormal phenomena and romance. With steamy romantica that
borders on erotica, readers may want to be prepared for a touch of
violence and hints at group sex. But neither detracts from the
obvious connection between Dani and Ben. Their feelings are
palpable, yet honorable, but both are afraid to show each other
their true selves.
HUNGER MOON RISING is a must-have for both fans of the author and
paranormal readers alike. Make sure it's next on your list.
