INTO THE DARKNESS starts off running and never lets up. Rene is a good man with a sad past. He lost his wife and child and vowed never to let a woman under his again. At first he contributes his attraction to Natalie as pure lust. The woman is gorgeous and doesn't even realize just how beautiful she is. But as the story progresses we watch Rene fight the truth tooth and nail. Will he acknowledge his feelings before it's too late? Natalie is a frightened but brave woman. She wants to face the whatever the hell it is on her tail out in the open. Rene's entrance into her life changes things drastically. I can't say too much or it will give away secrets I wish to keep hidden. I will say this, though, Rene and Natalie's relationship may seem like it's all sex, granted, spicy, wipe the sweat from your brow kind of sex, but the reader will see it's much more than that. The sex is steamy, emotional, and sometimes borders on BDSM.

Secondary characters include Rene's partner, Chessa, who has a few secrets of her own; Simon, Natalie's next door neighbor who is more than meets the eye, and a couple of others that have to do with what Natalie is and who need to remain anonymous until you read the story. I begrudgingly liked Chessa after learning what drives her. Another character who plays a minor role in the story but has quite a bit of action with Chessa, is Nicolas. A drop dead, bring you to your knees, gorgeous hunk who I hope to see more of.
