Erotic Paranormal Romance
River Bend - Present Day
John Raven, oldest brother and leader of the Raven Clan, and his
brother, Eric, are heading for Chicago to infiltrate and destroy the
Clutch of Devlin Morse. What is a clutch you ask? It's a family of
four to five vampires. John and his brothers are vampire hunters,
but they give the appearance of being bloodsuckers making it easy
for them to enter a clutch and kill every single one. This time,
however, John's plan doesn't work like he expects it to. Devlin
Morse gives John a task and until it's completed Eric will stay with
them while John goes to River Bend. John is supposed to bring one
Madison Woods to Devlin so he can find out how she knows so much
about them. Unfortunately for John, Madison sparks not only his
interest, but his libido, and now John finds himself in a
dilemma...protecting Madison and trying to free Eric.
Madison Woods has finally shaken off the "wild child" image that the
folks of River Bend have of her and she's given them another one,
published author. On Halloween night Madison is sitting with the
respected citizens watching the parade go by when she spots a shadow
across the street watching her. When he steps into the streetlight
Madison's breath is taken away. He's tall, dark, handsome and
definitely not what she needs in her life right now if she's to
remain respectable. That doesn't stop her from fantasizing about the
gorgeous hunk. Of course, when Madison finds him waiting by her car
all she can think about is getting him into bed. No! No! No! You
are a respectable girl. You cannot be seen with John Raven, even if
he is irresistible. Madison has a feeling she's met John before
and then one night it hits her. He's the epitome of her hero in the
vampire book she wrote. But how?
The attraction between John and Madison is potent and exciting.
However, John can't forget his reason for being there. When Devlin
shows up and takes an interest in Madison, John sees red. First off
that means Devlin has left Eric in the clutches of the only female
vampire in his clan, and she wants to bite Eric bad. Number
two...now John has to protect Madison from Devlin while trying to
keep her in the dark about what's going on.
Rhiannon Neeley's JOHN is a fascinating, scintillating erotic
romance with a touch of danger to give it an edge that makes a
reader hot. Well, it did me anyway. <g> John looks the part of a
vampire, all alpha male, sensuous and too delicious to ignore. When
he meets Madison for the first time, John sees the wildness she
hides beneath the surface and he wants some of that. Madison grew up
doing things that shocked the town but she's outgrown that wild
phase...or has she? John brings out everything she tries to keep
hidden and that frightens Madison. I have to tell you, though, I
didn't really like her parents too well. The little bit of
interaction with them left a bitter taste in my mouth. They were so
critical of Madison it made me mad. The sexual attraction between
Madison and John is instantaneous, torrid, and oh, so very hot.
Secondary characters include John's brothers, Eric and Dirk, and
Madison's friend, Leah, although the story mainly revolves around
John and Madison.
