North Carolina - Present Day

Rusty Blackhawk is about to lose everything. When she was younger, she got drunk, made a stupid mistake, and wound up pregnant and married to Danny Stikeleather. It didn't take long for Danny to become a full-blown drunk and beat her bad enough with a shovel, which brought about a miscarriage. While she recuperated in the hospital, Danny drove his truck off a cliff, and left Rusty with a huge debt. His family, though, has a way to get her out of debt...to marry another Stikeleather. Yeah, like that will happen again. Her only hope is to get her ranch back on its feet. And that's where Clay Russell comes in. He's a man Rusty could get into trouble with, and she's doing everything she can to keep her mind on the job, and not how hot he looks when he's working. Besides, Rusty's got a secret that could push away any man: she's a witch.

Clay Russell doesn't know why his family lied to him about Rusty Blackhawk. Here he was expecting a man, and instead this buxom little pixie is who he'll be working with. Sure, it makes things a little tricky since from the first moment Clay saw Rusty in a local tavern, he wanted to have her right there on the bar. Yet Clay can tell that Rusty's had a pretty tough life, and he's going to have to take his time if he wants her to trust him. But Clay will have to be on full alert when it turns out that someone's out to hurt Rusty and her ranch, and he'll do everything he can to keep not only her safe, but her ranch as well.

Nothing like a sexy cowboy to make a woman feel like...well, a woman. And that's just how Clay makes Rusty feel in Ciana Stone's MOLDING CLAY. It's obvious from the beginning that Rusty has not had it easy, but she has not let her experiences harden her. Rather, Rusty has stayed optimistic, which readers will certainly find admirable. Clay is extremely charming and easygoing, and takes Rusty's powers in stride. He can tell that Rusty needs a lot of loving to make up for her past, and Clay is more than willing to provide it for her. The sexual tension between them is simply a taste of how explosive they will be together, and when they finally do hit the sheets, it's even more voracious. There were a couple of problems, mainly with the ex-family-in-laws of Rusty, whom were more cartoonish than scary, but thankfully they don't make too many appearances than absolutely necessary, and are easily disposed of. Special mention has to go to Rusty's wolf, Koda, who plays a key role in keeping our couple together. Yes, I said wolf. <g>

A story about a woman down on her luck, and the man who can help her out, MOLDING CLAY will have the ladies screaming "Yee Haw!"
