Erotic Paranormal Romance

1829 - Tuscany, Italy and Rome

Lord Nicholas Satyr, along with his brothers, Raine and Lyon, receive news from the King of Elseworld. He is dying and his final wish is for Nicholas and his brothers to find the King's three daughters and marry them producing heirs. Their protective instincts kick in and the boys set out in search of their soon to be brides. Nicholas believes he has found his and soon learns it's not the beautiful sister of an acquaintance, but another beauty who hides behind disguises and other things. Nicholas approaches Jane Cova and asks for her hand in marriage. He figures she is perfect wife material -- genteel and lady-like -- therefore he will get her with child and slake his baser more darker lusts on his mistresses and Shimmerskins. What are Shimmerskins? Well, you see, Nicholas and his brothers aren't exactly human either. When the Calling is upon them, their bodies change a bit and they are horny as hell. The Shimmerskins are women conjured from mists who see to the brother's needs.  Therefore, his gentle wife couldn't possibly handle his strong sexual needs. However, Nicholas soon learns his wife is more than a means to an heir.

Jane Cova plays the fortune teller routine so she can gain enough money to take her younger sister, Emma, and run as far away from her aunt and father as possible. Jane knows it's just a matter of time before everyone learns that she's a freak. And poor Emma is in for the same fate once she begins to change. When the handsome Lord enters the tent with a young beauty by his side, it's all Jane can do not to get up and run as fast as she can. There's something about him that sets her heart to racing and fills her head with visions of naughty things. Jane is shocked when a few days later, Lord Satyr makes an offer for her hand in marriage. Why on Earth would he do such a thing? Jane talks to him and tries to make him see reason but he is an obstinate one and will not take no for an answer. Therefore, Jane finds herself married to Nicholas and unsure of her future. Each night he comes to her bed and each night she is left wanting. Is this all there is? No, it isn't and Jane quickly discovers exactly what she's missing. She also learns a horrible truth...her husband is keeping not one, but two mistresses. Is this how her life is to be? Not if she can help it.

Fascinating! Absolutely positively wicked is how this reviewer describes Elizabeth Amber's NICHOLAS. First in her Lords of Satyr series, Ms. Amber weaves a spellbinding story that captivates readers from the first word to the last. Nicholas is a typical male in the Regency period. He has a mistress or two, plans to marry but only share conjugal visits with his wife to get her with child, and continue to slake his lust elsewhere. Nicholas soon learns differently. Jane might have been raised a lady but when it comes to sharing her husband, well, she isn't all that obliging. I liked Jane from the get go. She's caring, loving, gentle, and when the need arises...a perfect match for Nicholas. Sex between them is naughty, torrid, and totally satisfying. Jane is devastated when Nicholas learns her secret. What will she do? He makes the choice for her when he reveals his secret. Is she ready for the truth and all it entails? Can she deal with her husband's more darker sexual side? There's only one way to find out...go for it. <g> Secondary characters include Nicholas's two brothers who are also searching for their brides, who just happen to be Jane's half-sisters and magical like her. Jane? Magical? Why whatever do you mean? Read the book! Of course, there's a villain or two, or should I say a villainess?

With her debut novel, NICHOLAS, author Elizabeth Amber weaves a magical story that readers of erotic romance are sure to devour. This reviewer can't wait to read the brothers' stories.
