Sensuality: Sensual
Palestine and Anderson County, Texas - Present Day
Karen
Ridley was once engaged to Bradley Weis, but he was just a little
too intense, a bit too possessive and Karen wanted to stretch her
wings, get away from the pack for a while. After heading across the
country to a county free of wolven, Karen thought she’d found her
place among the psychic community. But when they found out that she
wasn’t “pure” psychic, the locals turned on her, led by her then
current boyfriend, Lawrence Dailey. If it wasn’t for the
intervention of another psychic, Karen’s friend Bailey Sparks, she
would never have gotten away with her life. Why exactly is Karen
considered impure? As a member of the Anderson County pack (her mom
is mated to the Alpha), Karen was given wolven blood from time to
time to heal injuries she sustained, and let’s be honest, she got
into a lot of scrapes that required blood. The result of mixing
psychic and wolven blood? Well, picture a woman whose hormones are
all out of whack due to her “time of the month” then multiply the
effects taking into consideration that she now goes into heat like a
wolven female. PMS big time! If only Karen’s ties to the psychics
could be left behind when she comes home to Texas, but, it’s just
not that easy. Lawrence is out for Karen’s blood and he won’t be
satisfied until she’s dead.
Brandon
Weis had a traumatic early childhood and one of his only friends was
Karen Ridley. There was just something about Karen that called to
Brandon, something like an instinctual pull. Brandon strongly
believes that Karen could be the woman meant to be his mate, but she
was engaged to his twin, and when that didn't work out, she
high-tailed it out of town. Brandon has never lost the connection he
feels to Karen and when danger finds her, he’s bound and determined
to do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if that means finally
claiming her as his mate.
When I
first read WEREMONES (December 2006), I had decided that the boys of
the Anderson pack were going to grow up to be very interesting men
and that Karen was bound to end up with one of them. PMSING fulfills
all of my expectations. I’m so happy that Karen ended up with
Brandon, they’re a perfect match. Brandon was the pack omega as a
child and he was severely abused by the man who was the Alpha then,
though Adam Weis eventually arrived on the scene to dispose of
Brandon’s pack leader. However, Adam couldn’t erase the scars that
were already on Brandon’s soul. Karen, caring soul that she is, used
to drag the boys of the pack home with her where her mom, Diana, fed
them and treated them well, giving them respite from the everyday
evil they normally lived with. Eventually Diana met Adam and the
rest is as they say “history”. I personally believe that Karen
couldn’t commit to Bradley because, underneath it all, she knew as
well as Brandon that he was the twin she was supposed to be with. If
Lawrence wasn’t such a scum I’m sure they would both want to thank
him for his part in bringing them back together, even if that was
definitely not his intent.
Mack,
Tank, Chase are intriguing men just crying out for mates of their
own, okay, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, they never really
mention that, I just think they need ‘em. ;-) The younger members of
the Anderson Pack, Mark (all grown up now and with a woman in his
sights), Rick, Seth (has a cute human girlfriend), Eddie, and the
newest member of the pack, Rice, are all doing well under the care
of Adam and Diana Weis. Bradley is married now to a bit of an
enigma, Nikki. Karen’s friend Bailey is a bit uncomfortable with
pack dynamics, but who knows, she could be someone’s mate in the
future. Ember, the red-haired brownie with an attitude isn’t
thrilled that Karen and Brandon are getting together. Lawrence is
truly a sick man and it’s going to take a concerted effort to defeat
him.
Wolf
lovers will enjoy PMSING, a sensuous and emotional story that hits
all the right notes.
