Velvet and Trevor are intriguing characters, and the chemistry between them is off the Richter scale. Velvet's ex-husband Elliott and Trevor were best friends and roommates in college. One night Velvet and Trevor nearly made a mistake that would have cost them all much heartache. Now that Velvet is almost divorced, Trevor wants to explore the feelings that still linger between him and Velvet. Although she's a bit gun shy, Velvet fears what Trevor will think when he finds out that not a day has gone by that she hasn't wondered what might have been had they ended up in bed together. There are several other characters who play important roles in this engrossing drama such as Jamie, Trevor's sister; and Gwen, a friend of Velvet's who works at the agency.
