The Isle of Altair - a time of magic and war

Altair once worshipped the Goddess and followed Goddess law, but then warriors came determined to have the island, and its women, for their own. A priestess placed a curse on the island that ensures there will be no peace for the warriors who have claimed the isle until a time in the future when five guardians will appear. One guardian, Erika, has already been found. And now the second guardian appears, Farrah.

Farrah is nearly old enough to be claimed. By Warrior law, she can be claimed by any group of warrior siblings, with or without her approval. Kiva Latoni once tried to force Farrah, but her guardian power of fire saved her. Now he’s determined to have his revenge. The Latoni brothers have made it clear that they, and no others, will be her new mates. Asme, Farrah’s aunt by bond, knows that the first guardian, Erika, has been found and sends Farrah to her for safe keeping. But before Farrah can contact her, she is discovered by the Donan brothers and claimed in short order. Farrah knew that one day she’d be claimed, but somehow she never expected to have three mates, and what about her secret, how will they react to the news that she’s a guardian?

The second book in the Island Guardians series, FANNING HER FLAMES takes us deeper into the mystical world where danger and sizzling hot romance are just heartbeats away. The Donan brothers already lost a potential mate to an enemy of Altair, so when they come upon Farrah, they claim first and ask questions later. Farrah is a strong young woman, but when the brothers take her without even getting to know her first, she fears that there will be no happiness for her in this relationship. But Marcus, Alexi, and Bannen quickly worm her their way into her affections, just as she soon claims their hearts for all time. Farrah is a lucky girl indeed, she’s found the men of her heart, soul, and body. But happiness is a fragile thing, and Kiva hasn’t given up yet…

Erika, the guardian of earth and her mates Galen and Arik are already friends with the Donan brothers and they’re eager to welcome Farrah into the fold. Mariska, the Donan’s mother, is a sweet woman who is proud to welcome a guardian into the family, and more importantly, that her sons have found a mate who makes them happy. Farrah’s “aunt” Asme is no ordinary resident of Altair, she’s a princess, as well as a direct descendant of the Goddess. Some of Asme’s own romance with Prince Micah and his brother Godar is described in this story. Reanna, a friend of Erika’s who helps work with her powers is also eager to be friends with Farrah. There’s something a bit mysterious about Reanna, or maybe that’s just my imagination working overtime. Kiva is a truly scummy man, I cheered when Farrah stood up for herself against him, he deserves everything she gave him and more. His brother, Kito, well, he’s not cut out of the same cloth. Without Kiva, he may turn out to be a gentle soul.

The dangers to Altair are growing more intense, and that means the guardians time of reckoning is drawing near. That also means another guardian will soon be revealed, WASHED AWAY is coming in late December. In the meantime, don’t miss FANNING HER FLAMES, and if you haven’t read the first book in the Island Guardians series, EARTH MOVES (June 2007), get it while you’re at Ellora’s Cave. Lacey Thorn has created a highly imaginative, sexy series that you’re sure to enjoy.
