Erotic Sci-Fi Romance

Prison Planet of Ackron-Nine – The Future

Sentenced to life on a prison planet for the mercy killing of her son, Nurse Beth Shaw has no idea what kind of hell she’s headed into. The inhabitants have been sentenced for many crimes including murder, but those criminals aren’t the worst danger, with a severe shortage of food, many have turned to cannibalism. When the shuttle carrying her to the clinic where she’s destined to serve crashes, Beth is rescued by a cold-eyed man in black leather. The guns on his hips and the badge in his hand should make him a reassuring sight, but somehow they don’t.

Sure, Magnus Stone is a marshal, but don’t let that fool you, he’s no knight in shining armor. His wits and ability to kill savagely are the only things that have kept him alive for the seven years he’s spent on this desert world. Magnus doesn’t want anything except to live another day, until he sees Beth.

When Magnus offers Beth safe passage to the clinic in exchange for some down and dirty sex, she accepts after a moment’s hesitation. Survival is, after all, the name of the game.

HUNGRY PLANET brings together two unlikely people in explosive circumstances. Beth’s crime will be understood by some and disdained by others as evil. Her husband certainly didn’t agree with her, as he’s the one who turned her in. In the beginning of the book she has noble ideas of helping her fellow citizens, but can such an attitude survive when some of them view her as nothing but a potential meal? Magnus is not the most forthcoming fellow, and it’s not until the book is almost over that he reveals he wants Beth for more than sex. But can a leopard ever change his spots? While Michelle Marquis did her usual wonderful job of creating a landscape and characters that I could easily see in my mind’s eye, it was somewhat difficult for me to feel a connection to Beth or Magnus.

The only secondary character that sticks out in my mind is Dr. Jason Masters, Beth’s new boss. He’s driven to help the people, and even more driven to continue the experiments that landed him on the planet to begin with.

With memorable characters, danger around every corner, and hot sex scenes, most readers will be quite satisfied with what they find between the covers of HUNGRY PLANET. You should definitely consider getting a copy of this or other titles by Michelle Marquis at Whiskey Creek Press Torrid.
