SATISFY ME AGAIN - Renee Luke, Sydney Molare, Fiona Zedde
Kensington Aphrodisia Trade Paperback
ISBN: 0-7581-1565-7
January 2008
Erotic African American Romance Anthology

Take three very different tales of secret love, ghostly passion, and obsessive lust and you have an anthology of men and women who allow their passions to rule where love may or may not be possible.

Kiss and Tell - Renee Luke
Across the United States - Present Day

New Orleans Saints star running back Malik Drew has it bad for Callie Moore, a sex therapist who hosts her own television show. Malik has written and called Callie to set up a meeting but with no results. One night, as Malik is watching his crush on television, he receives a phone call which happens to be Callie. Callie has finally read his letters and wants to meet with him. But they will meet for one reason alone, and that is to have a red-hot affair.

Callie follows Malik every weekend to where he is playing his weekly game. They both end up in his hotel room spending hours pleasuring themselves. Malik is falling for Callie and wants their relationship out in the open. But Callie, who resides in Los Angeles, is not sure she can keep up with the globetrotting Malik. She is afraid the paparazzi will find out and watch their every move. It is up to Malik to show his Callie that a public relationship may be the right move for both of them.

Kiss and Tell is the shortest and the sweetest story in this anthology. Even though Malik is a famous football player, he enjoys the simple things in life, such as having a warm woman to call his own. He is so stuck on Callie that he will do anything in his power for her acceptance. Callie is a very intelligent woman who makes sure lust and love don’t cloud her judgment. These two are perfect for each other in every way, and I believed that their love was bound to remain strong.

Matinee - Sydney Molare
St. Paulus - Present Day

After witnessing a crime being committed, Mina Sinclair is paid to disappear, so she travels to St. Paulus. After her cross-country jaunt, she decides to stay put and put the money to good use. She decides to buy an old abandoned building, which was once an old movie house that showed x-rated movies. But Mina is not the only owner and resident. John and Cal, the former owners and now ghosts, have haunted the theater for over thirty years. At first they are unhappy that someone wants to encroach on their territory. But when they check out Mina, they decide to have a little fun. It has been way too long since they have had any action. Soon Mina becomes part of their ghostly ménage a trois, and she is not complaining!

As John and Cal tickle her senses, she meets another man, Joseph, who looks exactly like her ghostly lover John. Mina decides to investigate with the help of Joseph and his mother about the two dead owners and what has happened to them. But this still doesn’t stop the phantom playboys from having their fun with Mina and almost any woman in the town.

Even though it was a bit disturbing for two ghosts to have their way with a woman like Mina, their sexual adventures were quite funny and over the top. Also, the language in Matinee was a bit too much and gave me a chuckle with phrases like “chocolate hole” and “Eden’s door.” I found Matinee to be a raunchy and sexy tale with a bit of a mystery and some imaginative love scenes of the phantom kind.

Going Wild - Fiona Zedde
Miami, Florida - Present Day

Trying to get over your first love is hard enough. But it is even worse for Derrick because said love up and married his sister Dez! But Derrick is trying to move on with his life, working to the bone as a lawyer and trying to find the time to spend with Trish, his girlfriend of two years. Even though life with Trish can be dull at times and the sex mundane, Derrick enjoys what life has to offer.

Dez needs a favor from Derrick, to deliver a package to her friend Nuria whom he has met several times before. When they meet this time, Derrick feels the sparks between them and soon wants Nuria in a very bad way. Nuria allows him to have a sex only affair and Derrick becomes obsessed with this sexual diva. Their relationship becomes unhealthy as he continues to lie to his girlfriend and other friends. But he can’t keep away from Nuria until one day they both engage in a sexual taboo that will change him forever.

Going Wild is the weakest of the three stories mainly because the sexual actions of the characters are so cold and down right amoral. Derrick is one character who has no true morals and is at odds with what type of person he is striving to be. Nuria is a secret, and we never get any idea on what her motives are and who she really is. The sex between Derrick and Nuria is very hot and rough, but overall their passion for each other doesn’t make sense, and the story ends so abruptly that I wasn’t sure if there was a chapter missing. But, Fiona Zedde does have a moral to her story. Being obsessed with someone could ruin your life and your soul. And Derrick learns this the hard way.
