Erotic Contemporary Romance – Short Story

Las Vegas, Nevada – Present Day

Vegas is definitely the city of bright lights, and when the cat is away, the mice will play. Patrick Gerhart feels this is the perfect place to act on his lust for Cass Davison. But Cass is the girlfriend of his best friend, Ronnie. And Patrick also has his own girlfriend, Whitney, whom he brought with him on this vacation. These two couples may seem to be the best of friends, but Patrick and Cass can hardly keep their eyes off of each other. Patrick knows that if he seduces Cass, he will lose Whitney and Ronnie in the process. But he can no longer hold back, and he wants Cass in the worst way.

Cass cares for Ronnie, but there is something about Patrick that gets her all hot and bothered. And when Patrick invites Cass to come gamble with him while Whitney and Ronnie do their own separate things, well blackjack or craps are just not going to cut it. Patrick makes a bet with Cass that if he wins the most at the tables, he will have Cass the way he has been dreaming of, and if Cass wins, she will get his winnings. Cass is not interested in money and is willing to take what Patrick is offering. The next step she will take will change their lives forever.

We all know the phrase, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”, and in the case of Patrick and Cass, this gives them the perfect excuse to act on their attraction for each other. I would have enjoyed DOUBLE DOWN a bit more if Patrick and Cass were alone on their trip because the idea that they are willing to cheat on their partners did not sit well with me. But, if you can put that aside, Jamie Craig can sure write some steaming hot love scenes! Patrick and Cass are all too willing to lose inhibitions and act on their fantasies, which are quite wild.

If you are a fan of wild and out of control sex, DOUBLE DOWN may be the read for you.
