Erotic Contemporary Romance - Short Story

Present Day

As a wedding planner, Laine Malone is used to dealing with problems, but she can’t decide which problem is bigger at the moment; trying to find a new cake hours before the wedding because a bellboy fell into the original, or having to work with hotel owner Jason Henley.  In the past year, Laine has planned a lot of weddings at the exclusive hotel, and Jason has become a thorn in her side.  After they get the cake situation straightened out though, another crisis arises, and later, as Laine tries to figure out how to explain things to her boss, Jason advises her to lighten up and she retaliates by throwing cake at him.

For the past year, Jason has watched and lusted after Laine, but kept his distance, hoping his feelings would disappear.  After seeing her accosted by the groom the week before, Jason knows that won’t happen, and decides to finally ask her out.  Then, while trying to cheer her up, she throws cake in his face and the next thing he knows they’re wrestling around in the gooey mess.

A sweetly erotic tale, ICING ON THE CAKE brings together two adversaries in a very unique way.  Both Laine and Jason have personal experience with weddings blowing up in their faces, but they’ve dealt with in different ways.  Jason’s reaction was to console himself with plenty of women, and this has given Laine – and pretty much everyone else – the impression that Jason is a playboy.  Though attracted to Jason, Laine figures any interest he has in her will disappear once it’s acted on, which will ruin their professional relationship.  Is she right, or is there a chance that a relationship between them can be more than professional?  Pick up a copy of ICING ON THE CAKE and find out.
