Present Day

For two years, Bev Navarro has very carefully avoided Holden Lancaster, but when their friend Shane turns thirty and insists on a party at Holden’s, Bev has no choice but to face him.  The last time she was at Holden’s house, was for his housewarming party and a game of Seven Minutes in Heaven had Bev in the closet with Holden.  While she enjoyed most of the seven minutes, things ended on a sour note, and an emotionally devastated Bev left, hoping to never have to interact with Holden again.

Knowing that Bev purposely avoids him, Holden is grateful for the intimate birthday party Shane wants.  Maybe Holden will finally find out why Bev ran out on him two years ago.  Though he’s replayed their time together several times over, he can’t figure out what went so wrong that it caused the estrangement between the woman he still thinks of as his.  What none of the friends knew before the party was that Shane has more than celebrating in mind.  His birthday wish is a “do-over” for each of them, and suddenly Holden has the chance to fix his relationship with Bev.

SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN lead to two years in Hell for Bev and Holden, when a small misunderstanding leaves both of them hurt and angry.  Bev saw herself as the bookish buddy in their small group, and believed that her crush on Holden was hopeless.  While Bev was always willing to lend a hand, whether with homework in college or small details about his life, Holden hasn’t taken her for granted, but the housewarming party was the first time he made a move.  Careless words put a different spin on their closet time for Bev, and they’ve both suffered.  Two year later, the attraction between them is still strong, but they need to get over their past mistakes.

The first of the Naughty Games series, the other two tales will most likely follow the other five friends on their “do-overs”.  An entertaining short story, don’t miss SEVEN MINUTES IN HEAVEN.
