Present Day
As maid-of-honor
for her sister, Dette’s somewhat rushed wedding, Lara Sinclair has
been helping to coordinate things with the best man. Not that this
has been a hardship, Lara finds Cal to be funny, intelligent,
charming, and very possibly exactly what she’s looking for in a
man. So far, they’ve only talked through the internet, and Lara’s
very excited to meet Cal face-to-face. Then, disaster strikes,
thanks to Dette. A month earlier, Dette flew to Las Vegas after a
fight with her fiancé, and slept with a stranger, not knowing he was
one of the groomsmen. Since Dette and Lara look so much alike,
Dette begs Lara to pretend that Lara was the one in Vegas. Lara,
who has bailed Dette out of disastrous situations before, agrees,
figureing that because she’ll be spending all of her time with Cal
it won’t be a problem. But then Cal turns out to be Dette’s
one-night stand.
Caleb Daniels
had been looking forward to the wedding festivities and meeting
Lara, right up until he recognizes the bride from his miserable
weekend in Vegas. He’d been trying to get over his fiancée’s
betrayal and made the mistake of sleeping with “Eve”. Now he’ll
have to break the news to his friend, Adam, that Adam’s bride-to-be
cheated on him. Before he has a chance though, a nearly identical
woman arrives and admits that she was Eve. Things only get worse
when he realizes that the second woman is Lara. How can the
wonderful woman he’s been getting to know over the internet and the
woman he shared the worst one-night stand in history with be one and
the same? And how can he still find her attractive?
Lara’s dreams of
romance turn into a nightmare in NOTHING STAYS IN VEGAS. Even
believing him to be the kind of person who has one night stands
doesn’t change the way she feels though, and Lara can’t help but
wonder what would happen if she weren’t lying to Cal. While Cal is
over his ex-fiancée, he’s still hurt by the betrayal, and confused
by how Lara can seem like two different people. After spending a
bit more time together, they agree that what happened in Vegas
should stay there, but will it?
