Southern California - Present Day

Mia Kerstin is sick of being a goody two-shoes. Raised by parents who believe strongly in their Asian heritage, Mia has remained a virgin not only out of respect, but because the suitors her family has set her up with leave her cold. She has even gone so far as to keep a secret storage unit where she can keep fun clothes for when she goes out clubbing. The only place Mia feels alive is on the dance floor, but not even the abundance of sexy men that frequent the clubs make her want to have sex with them. And then Trace Kocourek enters her bland life.

What was supposed to be a simple Special Forces mission has turned into something much more dangerous, and it's Trace's job to keep Mia safe from those looking to even a score. From the minute he sees Mia, though, Trace's entire body is set ablaze. And the fact that she is no damsel in distress makes her a feisty little package that he is having a hard time resisting. But Mia's a virgin, and Trace fears that his insatiable appetite might be too much for her to bear. Or is it?

As they both try to stay one step ahead of the bad guys, Mia and Trace find that the harder they resist each other, the more dangerous their appeal.

POINT OF COMBUSTION. The title says it all. From the very first chapter, readers are taken on a suspenseful and intense ride as Trace and Mia fight thugs, and their heated attraction for one another. Though Mia is a virgin, that doesn't mean she's some shy wallflower who doesn't know what she wants in a man. She's a capable heroine, able to fight alongside the men, although she manages to maintain her femininity while doing so. Her response to Trace is a sensation she's been waiting for her whole life, but that reaction is at odds with her Asian heritage. Trace has had many women, but his life in the Special Forces has made him picky, and he no longer wants a one-night stand. Mia is just what he's been looking for, but her lack of experience keeps Trace from wanting to act on his feelings. Which just adds to their sexual tension. When these two finally act on their pent-up desires, I'd have a fire extinguisher on hand.

A slew of secondary characters from Dawn Ryder's Challenge Protocol books make appearances, but the book can be read by itself as Trace and Mia are the main protagonists.

Sensual and thrilling, POINT OF COMBUSTION is not to be missed.
