When Harper Sampson’s sister Helena doesn’t come home from vacation, Harper knows that something’s wrong.  Since Helena is an adult and is vacationing at a BDSM resort, the police figure that she can take care of herself, but Harper is still worried. Ty, one of the owners of Tygers, a local BDSM club, points Harper in the direction of a private investigation firm, and she hires Walker Bryant to find Helena.  Back at Tygers, Harper is introduced to Walker’s friend, Oscar Ruiz, who is also a frequent playmate of Helena’s.  Together, they decide that the three of them will visit the resort Helena had been at, and try to get some more information.

The only problem is that in order for them to be convincing, Harper will have to be able to convince the other guests that she is submissive to Walker and Oscar.  Her one attempt at submission ended disastrously, but to find her sister, Harper is willing to do anything.  The more time she spends with Walker and Oscar however, the more she begins to wonder if they are right: with the right Dom, she’ll be able to enjoy submitting.  But is she willing to admit it could be for more than a weekend?

Aptly titled, in SWEET AWAKENING, Harper starts out looking for her sister, but finds herself.  She’s beyond reserved; the only pleasures in her life are her work and her relationship with her sister, and though she is willing to play the submissive, Harper doesn’t believe it will change anything for her.  Oscar quickly and repeatedly pushes her out of her comfort zone, and is captivated by her spirit.  Though not as harsh as Oscar, Walker is just as dominant, and just as attracted to Harper.  Neither man had been looking for a permanent sub, nor had they expected to find one in the same woman, but that’s just what happens.

Other members of Tygers make appearances, such as Diego and Sorcha (SWEET SILENCE), Lake and Lucy (SWEET VIBRATIONS) and, of course, Ty. For those who have read the previous stories, it’s nice to catch up with the previous characters, but this book does stand well on its own.  A bit of suspense, and plenty of steamy encounters between three very interesting characters make SWEET AWAKENING an erotic and enjoyable story.
