Draconia and Gryphon Isle - Medieval times

Drake of the Five Lands is a seriously talented bard, a Spymaster of the Jinn, and once upon a time it was believed he’d be a dragon knight as well. But, that was many years ago, fifteen in fact, and in all that time Drake has not stepped foot in Draconia, the land of his heritage. However, times have changed and with a very real threat to the younger members of Draconia’s royal family, Drake has been forced to return and face his family, friends, and the young dragon he left behind, Jenet.

Mace is one of those friends Drake left behind, he’s now a dragon knight, and together with his dragon partner, Nellin, he helps protect Draconia. As yet unmarried, Mace has recently met the woman of his dreams, a Jinn woman named Krysta who serves as a member of Castleton’s guard. Unfortunately, Drake meets Krysta soon after arriving home, and he too is drawn to the beautiful and courageous woman.

Which man will win Krysta’s heart? The brilliant spy and charming bard, or the steadfast and tender knight? Well, to be sure I can’t tell you that, only Krysta can reveal her feelings. One thing’s for certain, if Krysta makes the wrong choice, in fact, if any of the trio make the wrong choices, disaster could befall them all and a prince could be lost forever.

FIREDRAKE is a thrilling tale and brings together three of the most entertaining (and deadly) characters yet introduced in the series. Of course loyal fans will recognize Drake and remember his role in Nico and Riki’s Jinn wedding (it was hot, let me assure you). If you thought that interaction was steamy, it’s nothing compared to the fire that burns between Drake, Krysta, and Mace. Of course, first they all have to get past their fears: Drake’s has always been that he’s not good enough to be a knight, that he doesn’t deserve to call Jenet his own; Krysta fears being used just for a man’s pleasure, she wants real love and partnership; Mace fears not just losing Krysta (as he’s quickly falling for her) but also worries about measuring up to Drake. Despite Drake’s beliefs, Mace always knew that Drake was gifted, capable of being a great knight. As always, Bianca D’Arc has gifted readers with characters who are eminently well suited for each other and who are sure to have readers on the edge of their seats as they wonder how their story will end.

The dragons in this series aren’t mindless creatures, able to communicate with their knights (and others gifted with the ability to mind speak) they are each characters in their own right. Jenet is one determined female, she tried to claim Drake as her knight over a decade ago, and though he left her behind, she knew he was the only one for her. Nellin isn’t just a fighting dragon, he has a special love for children and seems certain to become a great father if he gets the chance. On the human side, many of the characters featured, or at least introduced in the previous novels contribute greatly to this story and help propel it along. A couple of new faces are also significant, Gryffid and Gwen, though to tell you more about them would reveal secrets you’ll have to learn for yourself.

The fifth exciting installment in the DragonKnights series, FIREDRAKE brings more magic into Draconia than was previously believed yet in existence. It also brings to light danger of a far darker sort than Draconia has faced since readers were first introduced to the world of dragons, skiths, mages and knights in MAIDEN FLIGHT (February 2006). All in all, it’s a fantastic addition to the series and a story fantasy fans and romance readers alike shouldn’t miss. Do be sure to read the previous novels in the series first for clarity (and because they’re just fun). Having said that, what are you waiting for?
