Living without a soul can be tough work. Being reborn over and over again until a particular curse can be broken is pure hell. And that's exactly where Conall macCormac has been dwelling. For nine lives, he's lived without emotion, the memories of each life the only thing keeping him from going insane. A Daoine Sidhe, Conall refused to betray his queen, and an angry sorceress made him pay the price. Now, after years of waiting, someone has finally come along that can actually end his living nightmare, and allow him to return home. He's also bombarded with intense desire for Haley O'Brian, the woman who saved him.

Haley O'Brian has always felt the magic that rests within her, but has never really channeled it until she gets the chance to translate the ancient scrolls of Ogham. Her grandmother is a witch, but as a scientist Haley can't quite come to terms with what she is. All that changes when she gets close to the stones that houses the scrolls, and Haley realizes that she can no longer hide from what she truly is. Little does she know that by translating the ancient scripture, she would be setting a soul free. Nor that she would have a serious thing for the man whom she has saved.

Their happiness together may be short-lived, because now with all these newfound emotions, Conall is seething with rage. Payback is what he wants, but can his and Haley's magic be enough to stop a powerful sorceress?

A Fae witch and a cursed Sidhe come together with a fiery passion in Lauren Dane's READING BETWEEN THE LINES. For nine hundred years, Conall has been just a body, feeling neither love, nor the touch of a woman. The families he has been born into were all deserving of his love, but due to the curse, he was never able to give it. So when he's freed, Conall is like a kid in a candy shop, and it really is fun to watch him experience things that he's forgotten. And we're not just talking about the sex, though Conall is definitely making up for lost time with that. Haley's also got her own problems to deal with; not only that she's got Fae blood coursing through her veins, but now she too is a target for the vengeful sorceress Ninane. She takes it all in stride, though, and realizes that no matter how hard you try, you can't hide from who you are meant to be.

Secondary characters, such as Haley's formidable grandmother, and other members of the Daoine family add depth and humor to this magical tale from the pen of Lauren Dane.
