Gaia City

Thanks to the exclusives reporter Dayna Jamison has been able to get with Gaia’s Guardians, she’s earned her own news show.  Of course, only a few people know that Dayna’s exclusives aren’t entirely because of her reporting abilities – it helps to be Theta Wave’s little sister.  He and the other three guardians are the only family Dayna has.

During the broadcast of her first show, Dayna’s life is endangered, and then saved by the guardian Rock Hammer, otherwise known as Stone Matthews.  Of all the guardians, he is the only one that Dayna doesn’t feel sisterly towards – unfortunately her feelings for him go between lust and anger over the humiliating way he rejected her years before.  After rescuing her, Stone takes Dayna to her apartment, and a night of passion unlike anything she’d ever imagined ensues.  But Dayna isn’t about to give Stone the chance to reject her again, so in the morning she brushes him off.

Stone knows that he blew it with Dayna years ago, but right now, he’s decided he’s had enough.  He and the other guardians have watched Dayna put herself in harm’s way too many times, trying to save the world even though she doesn’t have powers like the rest of them.  Watching her risk her life for a story and earn an enemy in the process has Stone doing something he’s only dreamed of; seducing Dayna.  Her attitude the next morning surprises him, but when he realizes she’s still in danger thanks to her investigation, Stone hopes that helping her will give him the chance to win her over.

Return to Gaia City, and catch up with the Guardians in WHO NEEDS ANOTHER SUPERHERO?  In the first book, WHO WANTS TO DATE A SUPERHERO? there were hints about something between Dayna and Stone, and readers will finally get a chance to find out exactly what.  After the death of her insane father (a scientist whose experiments on his son, Graham, enabled Graham to hear other peoples thoughts and even interrupt their brain waves to influence their thinking), Dayna went to live with Graham and the other men with super powers.  Her immediate crush on Stone evolved over the years, but the one time she tried to tell him did not end well.  For his part, Stone was shocked to realize that the Guardian’s unofficial mascot was not only all grown up, but also a very sexy woman.

Stone’s second chance with Dayna comes when an investigation leads them to the Pearl of Isis, a legendary gem that supposedly provides it’s owner with power over the oceans and weather.  Not as action-driven as the first book, WHO NEEDS ANOTHER SUPERHERO? focuses more on the relationship between Dayna and Stone than the ongoing battle between the Guardians and the Syndicate of Villainy.  While some of the story may be better understood having read the books in order, WHO NEEDS ANOTHER SUPERHERO? can be read on its own, and is an enjoyable erotic romance.
