With his right-hand man, Snake Johnson, Tyler is a husband-for-hire.  For a fee, he buys brides at auction before trading them to the men of their choice.  That is the only way to legally circumvent overbearing fathers and guardians. 

Determined to help her sister Valentina have the man of her dreams, Dylan Norton, Veronica Moorehouse contacts Tyler and asks to meet him to see if he is what he says he is.  She wants to make sure that she can trust her sister’s life with the mercenary.  Only she doesn’t tell him that she is Veronica.  At the auction, her father, Victor, and Brant, his pick for Valentina, are enraged when Tyler bids the highest amount set for a bride.  Brant does not meet it and Tyler takes custody of Valentina, per his agreement with Veronica.  Dylan and Valentina are grateful to both Veronica and Tyler.

The meeting of Veronica and Tyler sets off feelings that they had never expected in both of them and they both wish for a real relationship.  When circumstances place Veronica in peril, Tyler manages to be at her auction and challenges Draken, who is as sadistic and evil as they come.  If two men meet the high bride price, a no-holds-barred fight in an old-fashioned boxing ring, takes place, and Tyler has to take on Draken, who has long coveted Veronica.
