Jacqueline "Jacq" Wolf has spent the last six years trying to earn enough money as a bounty hunter to pay off her debt to Markus Harton. Though she was finally able to escape from his bed, she still owes him and the company that cured her of a genetic disease with plenty of cash. The job that has come Jacq's way would rid her of her debt, but it comes at a very high price: capture and kill Tyr Kaden. The man she had fallen for years ago is now a convicted murderer and has escaped his prison. If she can bring Tyr in dead, Jacq will finally be free of Markus. But can she bring herself to kill a man who once meant so much to her?

Tyr can't believe how easy it is to lure Jacq to him. Time has apparently made her greedy since she practically jumped at the chance to capture him. The once sweet and innocent young girl is now a hardened hunter, and Tyr can only assume that the company that treated him so harshly has done the same to Jacq. But he can't let the emotions he has for Jacq get in the way of his revenge against Space Tek-Ko, whom he believes is responsible for all the atrocities in his life.

Betrayal looms in every corner of BOUNTY HUNTER, as Jacq and Tyr struggle to rid themselves of the inner demons that plague them. Neither of these characters are sweet and innocent, and readers might have hard time understanding their motives. There were times their actions seemed cold and calculated, but they are both a product of Space Tek-Ko, a company that doesn't care who they hurt as long as they get what they want. In understanding where Tyr and Jacq come from, though, will allow readers to understand why they act the way they do.

There are a few surprises throughout the book that I don't wish to spoil, but suffice it to say, Deanna Lee's BOUNTY HUNTER is a titillating science fiction romance that should be enjoyed by many.
