Though Amir doesn’t begrudge Mac his newfound happiness with Nicco, he can’t help but wish there was a way he could be included in it.

Will these three men work out a relationship that includes them all, or will the Colonel convince Nicco to give up on the love that’s essential to his happiness?

GOING AGAINST ORDERS can be difficult for anyone, but for Nicco it’s more difficult than most. His mother left when he was only four years old, leaving him to be raised by a strict taskmaster who wouldn’t even allow himself to be called Dad. The Colonel inevitably shaped Nicco’s character and left him with the belief that all love is conditional. That makes it hard for Nicco to accept that Mac could want both him and Amir. After all, Amir is gorgeous, well-endowed, and loves Mac, with all of that, why would he be necessary? Mac knows that wanting both of the men he cares for is, well, somewhat greedy. But he does love them both and wants nothing more than for them to learn to love each other as well. However, when danger finds them, Mac will be left wondering if maybe Amir and Nicco would be better off without him. Amir is quiet, aloof and doesn’t make much effort to get close to anyone, after all, the closer you are to people, the more it hurts when they’re ripped from your life. While he’s willing to get to know Nicco better in the hopes that they’ll both be able to have a relationship with Mac, he worries that Nicco will reject him and he’ll lose Mac and Nicco. While the passion that these men share is undeniable, they have a lot to overcome if they’re to find happiness together.

Many of the secondary characters in this book will be immediately recognizable to readers who have been following the Men in Love series. However, there are some new players as well. Bram Blackstone is Mac and Nicco’s lead investigator, he practically raised his brother, Thor, who is now ready to move on with his life, leaving Bram at loose ends. Dr. Declan O’Malley works at the equestrian rehabilitation ranch that Gabe, Boone and Rex (friends of Nicco and Mac) started. Declan lost his partner to cancer, and he’s recently begun wondering if he could have a relationship with someone new. Look for Declan and Bram’s story TORTURED SOULS, to arrive soon.
