Erotic Historical Romance – Short Story

Rating: 3 Novas

California, Gold rush – Late 1800’s

Barbara Lane never knew her father and is surprised to learn she’s inherited a gold mine in California from him. Her first reaction is to sell the mine, but when she travels to California to investigate, she finds her father’s partner instead of the empty house she expects.

Vincent Waverly has strong sexual urges that taunt him while he lives in a secluded home with a physically attractive woman. Pretty soon he’s teaching Barbara how to mine gold, while trying to talk her into becoming his mistress.

GOLD FEVER is extremely erotic. It starts off slow, but once it jumps into the heat with a few naked bodies it takes off. Hot and steamy; it is all about the sex.

I was interested to see how the relationship between Barbara and Vincent would evolve, but soon found myself disliking Vincent. His sexual need overshadows his ability to be relationship material. My interest in GOLD FEVER ended with my investment in the relationship. I wanted and expected the main characters to have trouble initially, but his actions completely turned me off emotionally.

If you’re looking for an erotic story with emphasis on the erotic, this may be the book for you. For those interested in an erotic romance, you’ll find one in GOLD FEVER, but the romance takes the back burner to the erotic aspect.
