Erotic Paranormal Romance

Middlemarch and Queenstown, New Zealand - Present Day

For some time now, shifter Leo Mitchell has sensed that his fated mate is near, but he hasn’t been able to find the elusive female.  He thinks that she may be the blond woman who helped the daughter of his brother Felix’s mate Tomasine, but nobody in Middlemarch has seen the woman since, so Leo decides to visit Queenstown to look for her.  Besides, with Tomasine and Felix hiding from the mercenaries looking for Tom, her foster daughter Gina wants to move back into the Mitchell home for the upcoming school term.  The friendly sixteen year old with her crush on him is a little more than Leo can deal with at this time.

Isabella Black came to Middlemarch with one purpose, to protect Queen Augustus, a.k.a Tomasine Brooks, from the man trying to kill her.  As an assassin herself, Isabella is uniquely qualified to help.  Her mission is complicated by the unexpected acceptance given to her by the Mitchell clan, and her attraction to Leo.  Also a shifter, Isabella knows that Leo is her mate, but until she can assure the safety of Tom and her daughter Sylvie, Isabella cannot let down her guard and allow herself to get involved with Leo.  Of course, a weekend away may be just the thing to keep her going until she is free to claim her mate.

Passion and love are impeded by secrets and danger in ASSASSIN.  Isabella had only known one way of life until she was saved by Tomasine, and she has sworn to protect Tom from the man who wishes to kill her, no matter the cost to Isabella.  Having already dispatched most of the mercenaries sent after Tom and Sylvie, and with the Mitchell family deciding to neutralize the man threatening them, Isabella knows that the time to tell them the truth is close.  But how will they react to the lies she has told?  Leo is anxious to finally meet his mate, something that surprises him since he’s always enjoyed his freedom.  He quickly realizes that they are more than a match for another, yet he can tell that something is holding her back.

The threat to Tomasine and the backstory involving her situation is better detailed in Ms. Munro’s previous release, PEEPING TOM.  However, most of the focus in ASSASSIN is on the relationship between Isabella and Leo.  Leo still lives on the family farm, so his older brother, Saber, and his wife Emily (from SCARLET WOMAN) play a part in this tale as well.  While it can be read on its own, I’d recommend reading the books in order, so you have a better grasp on the danger the Mitchell’s face, as well as the family dynamics.  Either way, ASSASSIN is an enjoyable story.
