Erotic Paranormal Romantic Suspense - ménage and M/M interaction

Argonne Forest, October 1918 and New York City, New York, 1923

There’ve been a lot of bad things happening in New York since the war ended and the recent murders of three people with connections to a speakeasy owned by Miss MaeBelle, a mysterious and beautiful woman, are chief among them. Ned, the bouncer and doorman, is afraid he knows who’s committed these terrible acts, his chief suspect? Himself. As a were, his memory of the things he does while Changed is sometimes sketchy at best. Could Ned be the killer, and if he is, what will MaeBelle’s new hired gun, Frank, do when he figures it out?

One thing Ned doesn’t expect is Frank’s proposition to spend some time enjoying hot and heavy sex, and then there’s MaeBelle’s unexpected interest to deal with as well. Could these three people spend the Roaring Twenties finding satisfaction in all its forms, or will their unexpected relationship end in horror?

With three very different and challenging people as the central characters, CARRY ON leads readers on an exciting ride to catch a killer and vicariously enjoy some very hot sex at the same time. MaeBelle is an American raised abroad by her father. Her mother disappeared when she was a child and her other relatives are unknown, though a few have popped up over the course of her life. Flirty and fun, she’s a determined woman who isn’t about to shrink from her desire for Ned and Frank. Ned is gay, always has been, always will be. So why then is he so drawn to MaeBelle? It’s possible he just hasn’t found the right woman until now, but with his future so uncertain and his recent activities possibly so very violent, how can he expect her, or Frank, to want to spend any time with him? Frank is as cold-blooded as they come, except in the sack. That’s the one place this scarred ex-soldier can allow himself to feel human emotion. Basically he considers himself to be a dead man, and how can a dead man love? With the odds stacked against them, this trio faces an uphill climb to find a future where peace and love could reign.

There are very few secondary characters of importance to mention, but here are the ones you’ll want to remember. Clara is MaeBelle’s cook and let me tell you, the woman doesn’t miss much, if you’ve got a question, ask her. Jake’s a college boy with a penchant for drinking too much and a yen to make MaeBelle see that he’s the only man for her. Harry is a whip-thin street kid who’s welcomed into the kitchen by Clara (and pointed in that direction by Ned). Aggie is MaeBelle’s companion and protector, brought back to the United States with her after the war, she isn’t exactly a friendly woman but she is dedicated. And how would a speakeasy get by without a cop on the payroll? Mahoney is the man MaeBelle pays to ensure that her business is left alone.

If you like Treva Harte’s Alpha series, then you’re probably going to enjoy this book as well, though it’s a departure from the norm what with the historical setting and the mystery driving the book. If you’ve never read any of the Alpha books, then you’re in luck, as this story is very much a standalone read. If you like your sex rough and ready, and mysteries are your thing, then be sure to stop by Loose Id and get your copy of CARRY ON today.
