Christine Stanton has lost her struggle to keep her family cattle ranch.  In his will, her father had included a clause that gave Christine one year to make it pay.  Otherwise, her stepmother, Claudette, and stepbrother, Donzo would inherit the land, leaving Christina with only the house.  She has already made arrangements of good homes for her breeder cattle and horses. 

Donzo has made it clear that he wants Christine.  She is not interested and has to constantly be on guard against his intrusions into her life.  On Christmas Eve, she boots him from the house yet again.  In her aloneness, she broods knowing that in just over a week she will no longer have anything to keep her here. 

She sees an unusual craft crash and takes a snowmobile and stretcher out to see if perhaps it was occupied, and if anyone was hurt.  She was not prepared to find Trinous, an Adonis not from Earth.  She manages to get him back to the house and loses her heart to the gentle alien.  With his help, she throws Air Force Captain Parsons off-track as she explores her Christmas present.

With the consent of his King and cousin, Kortrup, and the blessing of his mother, Lady Beatrous Hamorth, Trinous makes plans to solve all of Christine’s problems…just a few minor details---like the Sat-rian alien female, Z-rian--- yet to iron out.
