Erotic Paranormal Romance

Present Day

Catalina “Cat” Montoya is excited about her first undercover assignment, until she learns she will be partnering with her ex-lover Nathan Ames. A sexy man with a smile that will make any woman get on her knees and beg for whatever he wants, Cat just doesn’t want to deal with him right now. Unfortunately they are partners so she has no choice. Their case is to investigate Jack Wheeler and the supposedly haunted train that his exclusive member’s only club is on. Once on board, strange things start happening and Cat finds herself channeling the spirit of a woman long dead…a murdered woman. Is this woman seeking revenge? And if so, against whom?

Sex is abundant aboard the train and Cat is center stage for nearly most if not all. Not only is she having sex with Nathan, (the two go at it like bunnies), she is also doing it with Jack, for the sake of the case of course, and eventually she does it with a psychic woman. I didn’t much care for all the shenanigans. I like my heroine to be a one woman man unless it’s a ménage that all are consenting to. In SOUTHERN SPIRITS, that’s not the flavor I got. Instead I felt that Cat was more of a sex slut than what the author was trying to get across.  I really like Nathan except for the fact that he didn’t get as angry about Cat having sex with Jack as I would have. Shoot, if she’d been my woman I would have beat the other guy to a pulp. <g>

Edie Bingham does a fine job of characterization, her story is well-written, but I just didn’t get into SOUTHERN SPIRITS.
