Erotic Paranormal Romance

Atlantic City - Present Day

Marina "Mari" Bell can't wait to finish college so she can leave her hated job at the Avalon casino and become a librarian. A selkie, Mari has fought against her dominant nature in order to lead a normal life, and she's so close to succeeding. But when a sexy customer catches Mari in her true form, she's more than surprised to learn that he himself is a shifter...a gargoyle, even. Remy Rocher has come to Atlantic City to find one of the four missing pieces of the regalia that have been lost to his clan for years. Without it, he and his kind have become susceptible to human diseases, and although he doesn't believe he's the one to find it, he nevertheless intends to at least make a go of it. When he meets Mari, the attraction he feels for her is instant, and he and Mari are able to explore the attraction more after they are shot at and have to hole up in a motel. Are these two fated to find the regalia together? And can a woman meant for the sea love a man made of stone?

I've always been a fan of gargoyles, and am happy to see more authors using them as heroes, which was why I was eager to review STONE & SEA. But my happiness dimmed when the first forty pages of the book were Remy and Mari having sex...again and again and again.  Finally, with only forty more pages left before this tale was over did we get down to why Remy is in Atlantic City, where he's from, and all the other essentials needed for a great erotic romance. But despite very likable characters, I would have enjoyed more of the plot being sprinkled throughout the first few chapters, rather than continuous bouts of lovemaking. Still, Cindy Spencer Pape tells a nice story, so those looking for a quick fix will find STONE & SEA right up their alley.
