Erotic Paranormal Romance

Refuge, North Carolina and the surrounding area - Present Day

Kiesha Morgan’s momma always told her to be nice to people, even the ones you think are crazy. So where exactly has that attitude gotten Kiesha? Well, tied to a tree in the woods with nothing but her nightie on, surrounded by wolves. Not just your ordinary wolves, nope, these are werewolves, or shape-shifters as they prefer to be called. How does Kiesha know this? That’d be because one of them, Alex, turned into a man and claimed her as his “true mate”. Uh huh, you just wait until Kiesha gets her hands on Conor, the crazy person she was nice to. He insisted Kiesha learn all kinds of “facts” about werewolves, and she’s certain it’s his fault she’s in this situation.

Alex Wolfe is a patient man. He’d have to be as he’s waited over twenty years to find her. Thank goodness for Conor, he has a gift for scenting potential true mates in the human world. He brings them home and the single pack members check to see if the human belongs with them. Kiesha is everything Alex has dreamed of and he’s determined to convince her that she belongs with him, forever.

Ooh, sometimes you’ve just got to feel sorry for a girl. I mean, finding out that werewolves, ahem, shape-shifters and vampires are real, and teleportation is possible, all in the space of a day? But, it’s hard to feel too bad for Kiesha, after all, Alex is her mate. Alex is the alpha of the Raven pack, he’s also a successful veterinarian and he’s an honorable, loving, sexy man. He also cooks and cleans. Come on, what more could a woman want?! Well, for starters, a mate who won’t make you turn furry and grow fangs would be nice, at least that’s what Kiesha thinks. She’s a very independent woman, an entrepreneur, she’s used to calling all her own shots and it will be difficult for Kiesha to accept someone else in her life who will so radically change it. Can she accept the love Alex is offering, or will she head back to Florida and leave behind the man fate has chosen for her?

TRUE MATES isn’t just about Kiesha and Alex, okay, it is of course primarily about them, but there are plenty of interesting secondary characters in its pages as well. Take Carol (Alex’s beta) and her husband Mark. They’ve been down the path of true mates before (Mark was once human) so they have much advice and support to offer both Alex and Kiesha. Then there’s Nikolai, a vampire, he finds an injured female shifter in the woods and brings her to Alex for care. The shifter’s name is Shannon, she’s the sister of a neighboring alpha, and unless I miss my guess, she and Nikolai are destined to spend some serious time together (and I don’t mean in jail). Then there’s Shayla, Kiesha’s cousin, she has a heart of gold, and bless her, a tongue that’s exceedingly frank (not a bad thing, unless there’s a man with wolf hearing listening in on your call). I hope to learn more about these characters and where they’re headed in life. Do I hear series anyone?

An interesting storyline, great main characters, wonderful secondary characters and plenty of heat combine to make TRUE MATES a superb read. Don’t miss the first book from the pen of seriously talented newcomer, Zena Wynn.
