Knoxville, Tennessee – Present Day

It is the first week of the new fall semester, and Aubrey Upton is already depressed. With all the new incoming freshmen, she feels very old as a forty year old professor of art history. Even though these young male students are so delectable, Aubrey would never think of trying anything with any of them because of her twenty-plus age difference.

There is a new professor on campus, and he is just as young as the students. He is twenty-four year-old Dr. Joseph J. Bolinger. Joseph is a child prodigy of music, which includes the violin, and has come on as an adjunct professor for a semester. When Joseph meets Aubrey, he is smitten. He prefers older women just like Aubrey and wouldn't mind becoming more than just colleagues. Aubrey keeps him at arm's length, so that Joseph will first become friends with her and then perhaps she'll see what happens from there.

Unfortunately, Joseph can't take things too far with Aubrey because he is a hybrid wolf, and if they make love, she would be quite shocked to see what his penis could do while they have intercourse. But Joseph is frustrated and horny as hell and is not sure if he can hold off much longer because he wants to make Aubrey his mate. The question Joseph has is whether Aubrey can accept his true nature even though he is not totally human? If only the age difference between them was the main problem!

Blayne Edwards has an interesting take on a December-May romance. I was quite surprised by the way the plot turned, but it was not in a disappointing way. I enjoyed the twist about Joseph and that the age difference between Aubrey and him is the least of their problems. Because he is a hybrid wolf, not necessarily a werewolf, but a different species altogether, he must be careful with whom he is intimate. As I read this, I had a good chuckle, and it was humorous when poor Aubrey finally seduces Joseph. Her reaction was priceless, and I must say Edwards has written a very "out of the box" story with FIDDLER ON THE WOOF.

The title alone is very telling because of what Joseph is and the talents he possesses. I also enjoyed how he was willing to give Aubrey pleasure over himself before he decided to take that next step because of his funny and interesting quirk. Even though Aubrey and Joseph may not have sex right away, the attraction they have for each other is very nice, and they still engage in some interesting foreplay that won't disappoint.

For a funny, yet sexy read with a younger man who tends to become furry and the older professor who comes to love him, definitely try FIDDLER ON THE WOOF.
