The most talked-about piece of news in town is how long it will take Legs Anderson to admit to her relationship with Jack Harris.  Everyone in town knows that they are carrying-on even though Legs is no more than cordial when Jack comes into the diner every morning.  And while everyone wonders when, they already know why.  After the death of her parents, Legs came to live with her aunt, Ada, a bitter woman who had strict rules about men in her house – especially Harris men.  Things might have changed with Ada’s death six months ago except, rumor has it, Ada hasn’t left yet.
