Isaak Stahl runs a small coffee shop in Madden, and is one of the Leopard people who fled Russia.  Isask has had his eye on Neva for some time, but she is skittish and he has been unable to approach her. But Isaak is patient – he wants Neva as his mate and he intends to have her.  Leopard people can only mate with their own kind as mating with full humans brings on the beast inside them – a beast that must kill to return to human form. However, because Neva is a pureblood Isaak can have sex with her without the fear that he may kill her.  His only problem is how to approach the woman without making her run.

A young human woman is found murdered and Leopard clan knows that if the killer is not found and stopped more humans will die, and the police will quickly learn the secret of Madden.  Isaak offers to help Mikhail protect his wife and son, and Neva from whoever is menacing the town – but to do so he will have to move into their home so the women are always guarded.  Isaak has been waiting for this opportunity.  However, will living with Neva day after day prove to her that he can be trusted – or will she hide deeper and deeper inside herself?

SUBMISSIVE is a short sexy and intense paranormal romance.  Isaak is very much an alpha male, and while Neva is timid and frightened due to her past, I wouldn’t call her exactly a submissive.  Isaak’s seduction of Neva is slow and sensuous and as Neva learns to trust Isaak she begins to heal the wounds she carries inside.  But someone is out to hurt the leopards – is it an enemy from the past or a stranger they’ve never met?

Fast paced, erotic and romantic, SUBMISSIVE is an enjoyable read.  SUBMISSIVE follows THE ALCHEMIST, Book 1 in the series and is also tied to CAT OUT OF HELL.  Ms. Jordan has created an interesting and different shape-shifting world, where the beast inside really is a curse and not a gift.  If you like shape shifters and highly erotic sex, don’t miss SUBMISSIVE.
