Erotic Paranormal Romance - Short Story

Fairtrade, Montana – Western - Historical

As sheriff of the western town of Fairtrade, Lucas Trumble certainly has his work cut out for him. The townsfolk are in a state over the recent problems the frontier city has been dealing with, and they all blame one person: Louisa Dupree. They believe her to be a witch, and want Lucas to run Louisa out of town so their troubles will end. There's just one problem: Louisa is Lucas's lover. But that's not the only mess Lucas finds himself in.  It seems his best friend, Caleb Hawkins, has also got eyes for Louisa.

Bitten by a wolf, Caleb Hawkins has turned to Louisa in the hopes that the herbs she uses for medicinal purposes can help him. But Louisa can tell it's too late for Caleb, as the wolf is beginning to take over. And what the wolf wants is Louisa. Will Louisa be able to resist the animal heat she sees in Caleb's eyes? Or will the outcast of Fairtrade become even more so when she takes on not just one lover, but two?

Two men vying for the attention of one woman.  Sounds pretty damned hot, right? What could have been a great menage story was instead ruined by the lack of chemistry between Lucas and Louisa. To this reviewer, it came off as Lucas simply not wanting to give up Louisa, rather than truly love her, the author wanted Louisa to end up with both of them. There was a lot more sexual tension between Caleb and Louisa, and I think the story would have fared better if it had just been these two. Also, Louisa knowingly sleeps with Caleb while committed to Lucas. Granted, Caleb was hard to resist in heat, but it still felt like Louisa was cheating on Lucas. Which is why I just can't recommend Sienna Black's WILD FRONTIER.
