The Isle of Altair - a time of magic and war

Altair is an island constantly under attack. There are many who want its fertile soil and beautiful women for their own. The warriors who claim the island as home, and its women as mates, are paying a high price for failing to take the Goddess the women once worshipped seriously. Until five women with mystical powers appear, the Island Guardians, they will never know peace. Two Guardians have already emerged and now comes the third, Willow.

Willow has enjoyed the freedom of being raised by her warrior fathers far from the influence of most women. A couple of new arrivals to their encampment by the sea are threatening that freedom though. Drago and Ulrik Mederra want Willow for their mate. Having long ago discovered that she is one of the prophesied Guardians, Willow can’t help but wonder if the pair will be able to accept who and what she is. So imagine her surprise when she discovers they already know, and they’re completely okay with it.

Each of the Island Guardians stories builds upon the last, introducing not just new Guardians, but also revealing the threads that bind the people of Altair to each other. Drago and Ulrik’s easy acceptance of Willow’s powers over the water isn’t due to their being surprisingly open minded for warriors. No, it’s because their own sister, Erika, is a Guardian as well. It’s probably good that the men are understanding, because with the life she’s led, Willow thinks more like a warrior than most women and would probably have given them a fight the likes of which has never before been seen. Instead, she’s able to embrace her newfound mates and the passion that so easily springs to life between them all. Both Drago and Ulrik quickly decide that they have been blessed indeed to have found Willow and they’re determined to keep her safe even as they help her pursue her destiny.

Readers will get to know Princess Asme and her mates, Godar and Prince Micah, as well as their three sons, Tanner, Bram and Finn, a bit better in this story. And of course I can’t forget Alea, the Prince’s niece. She’s a bit of a firebrand and has a powerful bird of prey named Vulcan as her close friend.

The time when the Mystic will gather the Guardians together to protect the island and end the curse is growing near. However, the Goddess of Altair was done a mighty wrong and she’ll demand much blood before she allows her children the peace they crave. Who shall be the first to pay with their life? You’ll have to get your own copy of WASHED AWAY to find the answer.
