Erotic Paranormal Romance/Time-Travel

New England - Revolutionary War

Believe it or not, Kaitlyn McCann enjoys being holed up in the library for hours upon hours. Doing research on a few of the women who aided in the Revolutionary War for her doctoral thesis has kept shy Kaitlyn out of the real world, which is how she prefers her life. The only woman that has eluded Kaitlyn's research is Eileen O'Connor, sister to Captain Gabriel O'Connor, who served under General Washington. Rumor has it that Eileen dressed as a man and would gather key information for her brother and the troops. There is one thing that puzzles Kaitlyn, though, and that has to do with Gabriel's wife, a woman by the name of Katie Macan whose father was also a professor of history. Kaitlyn finds the similarities between her name and the other woman a little too close for comfort, but perhaps she's been researching too long.

As Kaitlyn is leaving the library, a strange and dense fog takes over the small town, and when she manages to find her way out of it, the people Kaitlyn sees are all dressed strange. It seems the fog was more than it appeared to be, and Kaitlyn has been swept back to the time she is studying about...and falls into the arms of the dashing Captain O'Connor. What a girl will do for research.

Despite the strange woman's odd looks and behavior, Gabriel can't help but feel a strong attraction towards Katie Macan. And though he's just met her, he feels she is the perfect person to keep an eye out for his headstrong sister Eileen. But the more Gabriel spends time with Katie, the more he wants her, and the middle of a war is no place for their romance.

Although a predictable romance, ONLY YOU is still an enjoyable read. From the very first page, readers know that Kaitlyn and Katie are one in the same, and it would have been better if that had been a nice surprise revealed later on in the book. Still, the characters of Kaitlyn and Gabriel are likable as both struggle against the reality of their situations. For a woman who has just been sent back in time, Kaitlyn takes everything in relative stride. And though Gabriel has seen and lost much during the war, he is not a hardened man, which was a nice change. Their lust for one another is a gradual build, but not less scorching when they finally consummate their relationship. Secondary characters, such as Gabriel's sister Eileen, all have their own journeys to go through, which adds depth to the story.
