Erotic Paranormal Romance

Colorado - Present Day

Ten years ago, Cabal St. Laurents lost his pack and vowed the woman who had betrayed them was his. Of course, Cabal knew in that one moment that Cassa Hawkins was his mate. No matter that she was married to a lying bastard who had used her to get to the Breeds, she was his and no one was going to stand in the way of that. Cabal left Cassa alone, fearing that she wasn't ready for him, and since they hadn't exchanged bodily fluids, he wouldn't have to worry about her suffering the mating heat like he sure as hell would. Unfortunately, there are still some unanswered questions when it comes to the Breeds, and the mating heat. Cabal finds that out, along with some other things that have him wanting to make Cassa his. But there is a rogue Breed out there killing off those who had slaughtered some Breeds years ago, and Cabal is in charge of finding and taking care of the problem. Too bad the killer has involved Cassa in the midst of danger.

A reporter, Cassa Hawkins was betrayed by her husband, Douglas, who used her knowledge and friendship with the Breeds to get inside and kill all but one before that one killed her husband and swore she belonged to him. Cassa cried, begged for his forgiveness and tasted his blood. Just a drop. But one drop was all it took for the mating heat that happens between mates to begin. Now ten years later, Cassa is doing a story on who is killing all those who once had brutalized the Breeds, and who steps back into her life? Cabal, of course. Her so called mate who has slept his way through half the women in the world when she's been right here all this time. She doesn't have time to deal with a mate who doesn't want her. She has to find not only the killer's identity but also why he is sending her pictures of each kill.

Lora Leigh has once again written a story that touches not only the heart, but all the erogenous zones on a human body. Cabal is so male it's not even funny. He's all lethal, especially when it comes to Cassa. He knows he loves Cassa but is scared spitless that if she ever truly sees the beast inside, that will be the end of it. He's done good staying away from her so far, but when the rogue killer pulls her into his world, Cabal tries hard to keep his hands off his mate. It's rather hard to do when the stubborn woman is always in trouble and his beast is clamoring to take what belongs to it. There's one other problem, though, one that just might cost Cabal his mate...her husband is very much alive. Cassa is head-strong and stubborn as hell. She wants Cabal, loves him, but knows deep in her heart that he holds her responsible for the deaths of his family. If she hadn't been blind when it came to her husband, Douglas, then she never would have believed him capable of using her to get to the Breeds. When she starts receiving emails and photos of killings, justified killings as the killer suggests, Cassa is once more pulled into Cabal's circle. She wants the man but at the same time she wonders why he doesn't want her. Soon Cassa learns just how much Cabal does want her. Boy oh boy, does he ever want her. The sexual encounters between them are hotter than the Sahara Desert and full of emotion. Both are insatiable, partly due to the mating heat, and the other part plain and simple lust. Secondary characters include a host of Breeds from previous stories, Jonas Wyatt, who is still the biggest SOB, a few new faces, and of course, Cassa's husband.

Emotional, suspenseful, and highly erotic, BENGAL'S HEART totally rocks! Lora Leigh blends spice and emotion perfectly in her latest creation and I can't wait for the next story.
