Settler’s Mine and Prima Alta - The Future

Clyde, an Alpha Wolfton, is in heat. Not necessarily a bad thing, but when you’re an outcast from your own kind, rather inconvenient. A visit to Prima Alta and Meta, a Wolfton whore he knows, will take care of his burning need. All he has to do is get there, enjoy her services, and get out before his former pack arrives to take out their aggression on him.

Angelica is a Wolfton, too bad she doesn’t act much like the Beta she is. Her actions in the bedroom are submissive, but outside of it, where males seem to want it most, she just can’t keep her opinions to herself. So, Angelica decides a visit to her Aunt Meta is in order. Life in her pack has simply become intolerable.

A sudden schedule change has Meta heading out for an off world appointment and leaving Angelica behind to face Clyde, the customer Meta forgot about. An Alpha male with a taste for domination and a Beta female who’s just been waiting for a male who can truly bring out her submissive side is the perfect fodder for some very hot action. Just wait ‘til they find out they’re mates…

Clyde is a bartender on Settler’s Mine. While his friends there know he’s got aggressive tendencies, they really have no idea how strong THE WOLF is. Clyde doesn’t understand exactly how Angelica manages to bring out his primal instincts. The ones that insist she’s his and he must protect her at all costs. What he does understand is that despite how well they get along in bed, a life with him wouldn’t be good for her. She’d have to leave Wolfton territory behind forever. Life without a pack, people who understand who you are, well, it’s difficult. Angelica can’t believe that Clyde gets to her on so many levels. She’s never been dominated in the way she craves in the bedroom until now, and even better (okay, not better, but still just as great) he doesn’t seem to mind that she has a will of her own outside it. It’s too bad that no respectable Alpha would want a Beta for a mate because Angelica is pretty sure life with Clyde would be fantastic. It’s very apparent that these two belong together, but will they ever admit it to each other? Oh, and let’s not forget the complication of Clyde’s former pack, because they sure haven’t forgotten him…

Focusing mostly on Clyde and Angelica, secondary characters aren’t of much importance in this tale. However,  Zelda, Amory and Bren (mates whose story is told in THE LOVERS October 2007) do make brief appearances. I think they’d be very happy to know that Clyde has found his mate (and hopefully they’d kick his butt if he was stupid enough to deny her). Putney is the Alpha of Clyde’s former pack. So undeserving of that position, he’s more of a rat than a wolf.
